Information and how to care for your Leisure Battery
Platinum Leisure batteries are amongst some of the highest quality batteries on the market. If you take care of your battery, it will give you many years of reliable service.
How do I take care of my battery?
Standing doing nothing, is what will shorten the life of your battery, It is recommended you either keep it on trickle charge, or fully charge the battery once a month.
Always check the charge state of your battery, at least one week before your holiday (12.6v is fully charged). To charge your battery fully from flat can take up to a week. So always make sure your battery is charged before you go.
Charging
Ensure that when you are charging your battery you are using a Leisure Battery Charger. Please also make sure that the charger you are using matches your battery.
If you find your battery is flat you will need to charge the battery for at least four consecutive days, depending how strong the charger is.
Your Built in Caravan Charger
Most Caravans/Motorhomes, have a built in trickle charger. This will not fully charge your battery from flat, however it is designed to keep your fully charged battery 'topped up', while you are attached to a mains site or travelling.
