Winterising your caravan
To winterise your caravan, don't forget to:
Clean: Thoroughly clean the inside and outside of the caravan.
Remove belongings: Take away all personal items, especially valuables.
Drain: Drain the water system and water heater. You can also drain the toilet.
Disconnect: Disconnect and store the battery. Remove gas bottles and store them in a cool, ventilated place.
Protect: Protect the pipes and tanks. You can also use a protective coating on the bodywork.
Ventilate: Maintain airflow and prevent condensation. You can leave cupboard doors open and tilt the caravan slightly to encourage water to run off the roof.
Cover: Consider fitting a breathable caravan cover or winter covers to the fridge.
Secure: Lock all windows and vents, and close all curtains and blinds.
Check: Check tire pressures and check seals. Periodically check your caravan.
You should also check your manufacturer's or supplier's instructions, site rules, and your insurance.
